Rotary lobe pump

Rotary lobe pumps are reliable, powerful and robust. Quiet and reliable operation, high serviceability and insensitivity to solid substances ensure a long service life with low failure rates and a high efficiency rate for the pump.

Rotary lobe pumps reliably deliver low to high-viscosity media, even with a varying solid matter content. The large free ball passage makes these pumps resistant to blockages or clogging. This also ensures high tolerance of solids.
Thanks to their reversible delivering direction, rotary lobe pumps are suitable for both filling and emptying.
Highly efficient, easy to maintain and with low failure rates, rotary piston pumps make for a reliable and powerful pump solution.

The versatile rotary lobe pump is typically used in the following sectors:

  • Chemicals and pharmaceuticals
  • Waste disposal and recycling
  • Food and beverages
  • Waste water
  • Sugar industry
  • Paints and varnishes
  • Biogas
  • Disaster and flood protection

Functional principle

Rotary lobe pumps are self-priming positive displacement pumps with a delivering capacity of up to 1,000,000 l/h. The rotation of the rotors creates so-called delivery chambers, which push the delivered medium into the pressure area. On the suction side, this causes negative pressure/a vacuum, which sucks the medium in. The design, which is symmetric in most cases, can easily change the direction of rotation and thus provide a reversal of delivery direction. The pump is therefore suitable for filling as well as emptying.
