Success story

From the lake to the room - lake thermal energy as a model for success

The use of lake thermal energy is one of Switzerland's greatest untapped energy potentials. Around two gigawatts of usable energy lie dormant in the depths of our lakes - comparable to the output of two nuclear power plants, but clean, renewable and locally available. Together with the Hotel BEATUS in Merligen, Rototec has successfully tapped this potential and implemented a pump system that is unique in Switzerland.

Consulting

We start with a thorough analysis of your requirements or your pumped liquid. We then work with you to create a tailor-made pump concept, select the right pump type and support you through to commissioning. Our aim is to achieve an optimum combination of performance and durability.

You can arrange a personal consultation quickly and directly: Call us on, write to us via WhatsApp or e-mail or alternatively use the Contact form. We will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a suitable appointment with you.

Our specialists support you in the design and selection of suitable pumps, carry out technical analyses and can also perform viscosity measurements or material tests on request. Thanks to our experience, we can accurately assess media and processes and develop tailor-made solutions.

Yes, if your system requires a replacement or test pump at short notice, we can provide you with rental pumps for various applications. This allows you to avoid longer downtimes and try out new concepts.

Maintenance

Our pump service ranges from regular maintenance, repairs and overhauls to mechanical conversions and adjustments. We overhaul wearing parts, ensure optimum settings and check all components so that your pumps work reliably. We are on the road for our customers throughout Switzerland or we can receive your pumps at our premises in Richigen near Bern and restore them to optimum operating condition.

The intervals depend on the application and the pump type. Regular maintenance is important to avoid breakdowns and maintain efficiency. We will be happy to advise you on suitable maintenance cycles and take care of the planning for you.

Yes, our team carries out repairs and complete overhauls, including mechanical adjustments. We use original spare parts and check all components for functionality and wear.

We recondition stainless steel rotors if their condition permits. Regenerating used stators is generally not economically viable. However, we will be happy to assess the situation for you individually.

Spare parts

Thanks to our long-standing cooperation with Manufacturerswe can supply spare parts for all pump components. These include rotors, stators, mechanical seals, joints, screws and drive shafts. We have many frequently used parts in stock in Richigen and can provide them quickly.

Yes, we maintain an extensive stock to ensure high availability and get your pumps back into operation with minimal disruption.

The delivery time depends on whether we have the required part in stock. Our priority is to supply as quickly as possible. Customers always receive the earliest possible delivery date from us.

We ship our goods with reliable and economical forwarding agents. We usually send parcels with DPD or Swiss Post. On request, it is also possible to collect the goods yourself by prior arrangement.

Practical questions

Clogging is often caused by fibrous or long-particle solids in the pumped liquid. To avoid or significantly reduce these, we recommend the use of an upstream shredding system. Börger offers tried and tested solutions with systems such as the Unihacker, the Multichopper or the Rotorrake. We would be happy to work with you to determine which solution is best suited to your application.

We will also find the right solution for you if space is limited. The design of a pump can be made much more compact with a bevel gear motor. Rotary lobe pumps and progressive cavity pumps can also be wall-mounted and therefore require less floor space. We will be happy to advise you on which design is best suited to your installation situation.

There can be various reasons for an insufficient delivery rate. It is often due to worn components, which means that the necessary sealing is no longer fully in place. A pump that is not optimally designed can also be the cause, for example if the back pressure is too high, the flow rate is too high or the medium is unsuitable. We will be happy to support you in analyzing the cause and help you find the right solution for reliable operation.

We measure the viscosity of your medium and provide you with a sound basis for pump selection. To do this, we need approx. 0.5 l of your medium in a suitable, safe container.

Set the trigger temperature to approx. 10 °C above the operating temperature of your medium. Make sure that the maximum permissible temperature of the pump is not exceeded.
