Pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals and cosmetics industry

When details make the difference

What is fine chemistry?

This area deals with the production and handling of high-purity chemical compounds. Such products with specific properties are often used as raw materials for further processes, for example in the pharmaceutical industry. Pure end products such as aromas, paints and adhesives are also included in this area.

Choice of materials for hygiene applications

Pump materials in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics sector must meet the highest quality requirements. Typical requirements include FDA and USP Class VI-compliant materials, surface certificates and proof of material quality in accordance with 3.1. Stainless steels are used as well as special plastics and elastomers that are chemically resistant. These enable regular CIP and SIP cleaning.

Hygienic design

This refers to a design that ensures simple, residue-free cleaning and sterilization, thus minimizing the risk of microbial contamination. Important features are polished surfaces free of dead space and gaps.
